We have been busy of late, but our service is never without reward. For example, currently we are preparing to take a mission to one of the outlying planets to help with an outbreak of sickness. Every planet and creature we help, even here in the Temple, blesses me with knowing more about our vast universe. A man could travel from one end of the galaxy to another, see everything and learn nothing. I desire not to be that man. I wish to know about the cultures that we share our stars with.

Fernyt has been studying hard lately; he is going to compete in a lightsabre tournament at the end of the week. I believe this is all of the news that merits mention for now.

First Entry

I suppose since so many others have been starting their own datapad journals, I should too. Well, I ought to introduce myself first of all.

My name is Fren, I am a Healer at the Jedi Temple. My son, Ferynt, is training to become a Jedi Knight. He is a Padawan apprentice under Master Tiberias Bronde. We are from the planet Al-Shalah, which is far on the outer rim. For years beyond count, our people had been at war amongst the tribes. I began as a warrior, but I found that my skills were more useful as a healer. My son was born and shortly after my wife was killed.

The Jedi came to help us. The war ended. But there, I had nothing, and I wanted better for my son. They found that he was Force-sensative and offered to take him to the Jedi Temple to train him as a Jedi. I asked if I could come with them. Fortunately, they were able to use my skills, and since I was much too old to begin the training, I became a healer, while my son will become a Jedi. I am very pleased to be here.

Anyway, I must return to my duties.
